We only returned from studying abroad in 1965, and you were already starting your own business — and creating many classic products and industries ." Dr. Mei, not only served as President of the Central Police University and later as Chancellor of Tunghai University, but also earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Michigan in August 1965. Upon returning to Taiwan , he was entrusted by the government to establish the “ National Youth Commission ” (NYC) under the Executive Yuan. Starting from virtually “ no resources, no personnel, and no institutional foundation ,” he built the Commission into a first-tier agency directly under the Executive Yuan.   Written by Peter Li-Chang Kuo ( Chinese ) As the saying goes, “ A great fool lives his whole life without awakening .” I knew from a young age the words of Jesus recorded in " Matthew 12:50 ," yet only now — having reached what Confucius called the " sixth stage " of life — have I begun to loosen my long-standing " self-deceptions ." After making adjustments, I suppose perhaps I can at best be considered a “ medium-level fool .” Television programs have become increasingly YouTube-like. We can now watch two episodes of the same variety show from ten years apart at the same time. Essentially, guests who appeared ten years ago are still the same guests ten years later. A decade seems hardly enough for anyone to produce meaningful achievements.
